Supported Living
The goal of the Supported Living program is to provide help in locating and moving into a home of
choice, and to provide
the help needed to live independently. An Independent Living Coordinator (ILC)
will discuss the risks of living alone and other living options.
Program participants
who are not already living independently will be assisted in choosing where to live, with
consideration given to budgetary needs, transportation availability, safety issues, etc.
Independent Living Coordinators can assist with meeting potential roommates. Law enforcement
and abuse registry checks may be made on roommates who are not BAC clients. Some of the areas
the ILC may provide instruction in include budgeting, meal planning, shopping, medicine management
and grooming. Assistance is provided with seeing doctors and developing leisure pursuits.
The ILC is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies.
Program participants must be at least 18 years old and have adequate income to live independently.
